Gearbox install completed
The SX 150 gearbox is now completely installed, it will drive a 46 tooth clutch & 15 tooth front sprocket with a final drive ratio of 5.56.

The SX 150 gearbox is now completely installed, it will drive a 46 tooth clutch & 15 tooth front sprocket with a final drive ratio of 5.56.
Gearbox all in now, just need to fix the end plate down.
So, finally back into the Li150 engine rebuild, had to remove the crank & re torque the end plate screws with my new torque wrench. All torqued up now $ crank wound back in nicely. Now back to the gearbox.
Here is what they look like after the vapour honing, nice & new just like they came out of the factory in Milan 43 years ago.

This is a process that combine water & glass beads to gently clean ageing aluminium, works a treat.

This Carby is a Delorto SH2/22 and looked liked it had not been touched in years, nice & clean now though.
More before & afters, the barrel was sandblasted on the outside to get rid of the built up coking and rust on the cooling fins. The cylinder head and the two manifolds were cleaned using a process called Ball Burnishing, this process involves having the items rolling around in a tank full of oddly shaped ball bearings.
